Michael R. Stoffman, MD

Dr. Stoffman is originally from London, Ontario. He is the Chief of Neurosurgery at Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital.

He earned his Bachelors degree from the University of Toronto in Pharmacology with High Distinction and his Medical Degree from the University of Ottawa cum laude. He then completed his surgical internship at McGill University at the Montreal Neurological Institute and his neurosurgery residency training at Yale University where he was appointed Chief Resident. He was also an associate Research Scientist at Yale University.

Dr. Stoffman has been involved in clinical research and was a Principal Investigator on a National Cancer Institute funded grant. He has been invited to review grant applications by other physicians and scientists for the National Institute of Health. His research has been presented at national and international scientific meetings and published in scientific articles.

Dr. Stoffman has a special interest in minimally invasive spine surgery. The minimally invasive surgery performed by Dr. Stoffman allows patients to often go home the same day of surgery, and to return to normal activities more quickly.

When operating at either Kenmore Mercy Hospital or  Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, Dr. Stoffman uses state of the art equipment including complicated microscopes and special imaging guidance equipment to pinpoint the problem and repair it with precision.

Dr. Stoffman is a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, American Association of Neurological Surgery and the Joint Tumor Section of AANS and CNS.
